Worst Mom In the World

Here I was, going on and on about how I need to pay better attention to what is going on in my life, and I went and did something horrible tonight. To make an extremely long story short...got a call for a house showing, cleaned and straightened up like mad, had a "challenging" trip with the kids to the grocery store to get out of the house, pulled into the garage, turned the van off and Joslynn just hopped right out of her car seat. I hadn't buckled her in!! I was so frazzled from my 'flight of the bumble-bee' evening that I didn't even pay attention to the precious cargo that I was carrying.

I'm such a hypocrite.

Don't beat yourself up over this. I bet most mom's have done something like this...most just don't admit it. J is fine, and you won't forget again.

I once locked Alex in the car in June in the k-mart parking lot. I had to sit and watch her scream while we waited for police to come and break in for me. Longest 8 minutes of my life, and I beat myself up for months about it. But she's fine today, she doesn't remember it, and I've never locked anyone in the car since. Another lesson to add to the "Momguilt" arsenal we all get to carry around.

It happens. When life gets busy, things can happen. It's things like this that wake us up & say slow down a bit.

I'm glad everythng turned out ok.

Need a video to toss in for a breather? I have a couple of suggestions.

Ben is five months old and we've done this twice. The daycare lady now tells me "he's not buckled in" when I arrive to pick him up. I felt horrible. Ben didn't notice.
